Once upon a time a colony of settlers manly coming from the Islands of Rhodes and Crete, founded the ancient city of Akragas, today known with the name of Agrigento. On a crest not far from the modern city, Akragas, supposedly founded in 582 BC, soon became prosperous and, in its glory days, was one of the most important and most culturally-advanced Greek cities in the Mediterranean. In the archeological park, it is still possible to admire the ruins of eight imposing temples and many other remains of the structures composing the ancient Acropolis; get ready for a full immersion in the Greek culture and to be captured by the wonderful views and landscapes you can enjoy from the site!
